Murphy's Premium Irish Whiskey

Murphy's is produced by Irish Distillers Group in Midleton, and is a blend of equal shares of 10 year-old Malt Whiskey, and 3 to 4 year-old Grain Whiskey.

The name goes back to James Murphy who founded Midleton Distillery in 1825, and became first Director of Cork Distilleries Co. Ltd, an alliance of 5 Distilleries in the Cork Area, in 1867.

According to Jim Murray, "this really is a very enjoyable Blend possessing admirable finesse. There is definitely a smoky presence that adds a delightful extra tang and unusual depth."

Murphy's is bottled at 40 per cent abv.
