Erin Go Bragh ("Ireland forever!") is the only Single Malt Whiskey from Midleton ever bottled. Only distributed in the U.S. by Baltimore based John Gross & Co., it is not easy to get in Europe. The Whiskey has matured in Bourbon and Oloroso Casks for 6 to 10 Years. Peter Mulryan noted "Erin Go Bragh is a real curiosity, a malt that doesn't taste like a malt". Irish Distillers found their huge Pot Stills better suited for Pot Still Whiskey, as one can easily verify by tasting a Power's, Redbreast, or Green Spot. Erin Go Bragh remains an experiment, a one-off, very unlikely to be repeated. |
"Not a drop bottled until it is six years old." | |
